Paulo Tonietto, who represents the centre back, is either teasing PSG ahead of new contract talks or he is trying to find a new club for the Brazilian.

Chelsea could be boosted in their recent pursuit of Thiago Silva with the news that the defender may look to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

The France Under-21 international was outstanding for the hosts but his teammates were less impressive, despite the substantial winning margin after goals from Angel Di Maria, Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani. The Spaniard said yesterday that he wanted Paris to win and perform well, but - given the choice - he obviously would have preferred the first outcome to the second. Cavani saw a header graze the near post on its way past as he connected with a Di Maria free-kick at the start of the second half. He brought some much-needed verticality into Paris' play, and it was his running that prompted the razor-sharp pass from Rabiot that led to Paris' breaking the deadlock - as well as playing a key role in Lucas' strike.

Cavani tried to convert a low ball in by Blaise Matuidi but his touch turned into an assist for Di Maria, who finished emphatically. But even so, they are also not in anyway underestimating the opposition.

And although his future is in doubt, Tonietto insists Silva wants to remain as a PSG player beyond his current contract.

As an extra note, unfit defender Manuel Akanji is not in their UEFA Champions League squad, nor are the two other players: Kevin Bua and Dereck Kutesa.
